Hunger and Hope in Northern Mozambique

In northern Mozambique, hunger and malnutrition continue to devastate families—especially among the Makua people and those living in refugee camps. Malnutrition in children under five remains one of the greatest concerns. Many little ones suffer simply because they lack access to nutritious food. But hope is rising through three life-giving projects now underway:
1. Expanding Gardens That Feed Thousands
Last year, WayFinders Africa agronomists planted and harvested four acres of cassava—enough to feed 879 families, more than 5,000 people. This year, the garden has expanded from 4 acres to 12 acres. Our team will soon plant corn, peanuts, millet, and sorghum—key ingredients for a nutritious porridge. Once harvested, these crops will be delivered to hundreds of abandoned women with young children in the refugee camp.
2. Training Makua Women to Grow and Cook Nutritious Food
In remote communities, Makua women are being trained to grow these same crops themselves and to prepare healthy porridge for their families. This empowers mothers, strengthens households, and builds long-term food security.
3. Feeding Children Through Food4Kids
Every week, more than 300 children receive a hot meal of beans and rice through our Food4Kids program—at a cost of just $400 per month. Many children save part of their meal to bring home and share with their families.
We Need Your Help to Keep This Work Growing

Your generosity can directly provide food, nutrition, and the hope of Christ to some of the most vulnerable families in Mozambique.
Here’s what’s needed right now:
$2,000 sustains the expanded garden for an entire year—funding multiple plantings and harvests that will feed thousands.
$800 per month would allow Pastor Daniel to expand Food4Kids so Muslim children can receive two meals each week while hearing about the love of Jesus.
You Can Put Food on a Child’s Plate and Hope in a Family’s Heart
When you give to WayFinders Africa, you’re feeding hungry children, empowering women, and strengthening entire communities—one garden and one meal at a time.
Would you prayerfully consider giving today to help ensure these life-changing ministries continue?'
